Your i8 remembers far more than its fault codes
Its control units keep their own history: how the battery has aged, cell by cell; how and when it was charged; how it was driven; when the fault memory was last cleared. Phasekoda reads all of it and explains it in plain language.
How the beta works
- Sign up - a few multiple-choice questions about the car, about two minutes.
- Download the reader - one Windows program. It only reads: it cannot change, clear or code anything in the car.
- Read the car - car in P, ignition on, laptop connected with an ENET cable. About a minute. The program saves one sealed file that only we can open.
- Upload the file on your personal page.

We need a broad mix of cars
The first round is 3-5 testers: EU, UK and US cars, pre-LCI (2014-2017) and LCI (2018-2020), Coupé and Roadster. You need an ENET cable ("BMW ENET OBD2 to RJ45", about €20) and a Windows laptop.
The report is a dated record of what the listed control units held at the time of the read. It is not an inspection, a valuation or a recommendation to buy or sell.
